Jen Meller is a director and cinematographer. She holds a Masters of Fine Art in Film and Electronic Media from American University. Jen is passionate about music, dance, and women’s issues. Early in life Jen was a dancer, and thrives at incorporating dance and vivacious color into her work. Jen began her career as a fashion photographer, studying under Vogue Fashion Photography, Janusz Kawa. She has shot Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. In returning to Washington DC to attend graduate school, Jen focused her media on topics of gender identity, women’s issues, and addiction. Upon graduating in 2016, Jen began a career shooting and directing music videos. In 2022, Jen shot Ezra Furman’s book None Of Us Ashes depicting Ezra’s trans evolution. Jen has worked with such artists as Breanna Barbara, A Very Special Episode, Sleepy Kitty, My Favorite, and Ilithios. Jen also works for Scripps News in the Creative Services Department as a Senior Graphic Artist, creating and depicting the news by way of animation. Jen is currently writing an animating a short film, “ My Big Juicy Sad Love Life,” about the woes of dating in the digital age.
